Wet Weather Garden Boots If you happen to live in one of those delightful climates where you see more clouds than sunshine, you may often find yourself working in your garden in wet conditions. On such occasions, it is important to have the proper footwear in the form of Hunter Wellies. These boots will keep your feet protected from the wet weather and keep your pants nice and clean to a great extent. What should you look for when trying to choose a good pair of durable rubber boots?

The lining is a very important thing to consider, especially if you live in a climate where the weather is particularly harsh. Though most boots are made of natural rubber on the outside, the lining can be of a variety of different materials. Leather is one of the most luxurious linings you can have. It tends to be very comfortable and conforms to the shape of the foot and the leg in order to achieve a perfect fit. Leather is also very durable and a pair of rubber boots lined with leather will no doubt last for many years; in fact, they have a tendency to only grow more comfortable as they age.

Neoprene is another lining that can be found in rubber boots. Neoprene is a great insulator, one of the best in fact. It keeps the wearer’s body heat from dissipating, which means your feet and legs stay warmer longer. If you plan to spend much of your time outdoors working in cold conditions, you may want to seriously consider rubber boots with a neoprene lining on the inside.

Jersey lining is half acrylic and half cotton and has some of the same elastic properties as rubber. What this means for you is that the boot will conform well to your foot and any motion of your foot. As a general rule, jersey is considered to be a mid season lining, so you may want to consider a pair of boots lined with neoprene and one lined with jersey so that you are prepared for each season. Finally, one of the newest linings that takes advantage of micro-technology changes from a solid to a liquid state depending on your body temperature. This means that heat is emitted when your body temperature is low and then the material wicks away moisture when your body temperature begins to rise.

The other nice thing about rubber boots is that now they can be worn almost anywhere if the weather is right and are no longer simply relegated to the garden. For this reason, you will find that rubber boots come in a variety of colors and patterns, from the very traditional blacks and browns to the very pretty floral print wellies and patterns. You can find boots that are both comfortable and practical, perfectly suited to the weather in your particular neck of the woods. If you buy genuine natural rubber boots with the right lining you can be assured that they will serve you well and that they will last you for many years into the future.
